Health and Wellness Education for Children and Families
When: Every 3rd Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 12 noon
Why: To provide a fun and safe environment for children and their families t o learn about a variety of topics.
Grandparent Support Group
When: Every 1st and 3rd Thursday from 11 a.m.-1p.m.
Why: To provide a place of belonging and support for grandparents raising grandchildren
Healthy Cooking Class
When: As scheduled
Why: To provide community with culinary skills for our area young people
Neighborhood Computer Class
When: As scheduled per each quarter
Why: To provide community with access to computer skills for use at home or on the job.
Block Contacts
When: Every 2nd Wednesday evening 5 p.m.-6p.m.
Why: To strengthen our neighborhood block by block and to provide resources to residents throughout the neighborhood
Mr. L.C. Tool Lending Library
When: Throughout the entire year
Why: To provide residents with the tools they need (at a nominal cost) for lawn maintenance and minor home repair
Sewing and Quiliting Class
When: Second and Third Tuesdays of the month from 10am to 12pm
Why: To provide a skill to residents as well as create and donate projects to those in need
Execise Walker in Watch
When: As scheduled
Why: To strengthen residents health as well as help monitor neighborhoods through walking and excercising in groups
throughout the community
Summer Youth Employment
When: During summer months
Why: To work with Full Employment Council to provide area youth summer employment opportunities.
East Area CAN Center with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department
When: Personal/confidential contact can be had at the Center on Thursdays from 12 to 1 pm, or as needed.
Why: To provide residents with easy access to police officers able to assist with your crime and safety concerns.

When: Starting October 18, 2012 and once monthly thereafter
